The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received a distress call at 0558 hours on Tuesday, 17th March 2026, reporting a vehicular fire at Gomoa Potsin Junction on the Accra–Winneba Highway.

The Apam Fire Station was immediately dispatched to the scene, with support from the Kasoa Fire Station. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fully developed fire that was rapidly spreading to adjoining structures.

Fire personnel swiftly and tactically worked to contain the blaze. Within an hour, the fire was brought under control and was completely extinguished at 0842 hours.

The incident involved a petrol tanker whose registration number could not be identified due to the severity of the fire. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.

The Ghana Police Service was on site to manage traffic, ensuring safety and restoring the free flow of vehicles after the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
