From the start of 2024, popular Ghanaian socialite Nana Akua Addo has kept jaws dropping with her trendsetting outfits, many of which became the talk of the town.

Throughout the year, she carved a permanent spot for herself in the world of fashion with unique designs and bold fashion statements that had everyone talking.

Known for her fearless approach to fashion, Nana Akua Addo has consistently made headlines, especially for her daring red carpet-looks.

Let’s take a look at three of her most ‘show-stopping’ looks that took over social media this year and earned her the ‘Slay Queen of the Year’ title.

The 10th African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs)’ outfit

Arguably her most talked-about outfit of the year, Nana Akua Addo stole the spotlight at the 10th AMVCAs in Nigeria, where she was touted as the ‘Best Dressed’ among the fashion elite, even standing out alongside fashion icons from the Nigerian space.

Her ‘show-stopping’ ensemble, crafted from 3D unconventional materials, turned heads on social media, with many comparing her look to international stars like Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez.

She complimented that look with the striking ‘Heidilee Endless Echo hat’, adding an extra touch of glamour to the occasion.

Nana Akua Addo’s accessories included a radiant shell-shaped clutch by Chanel, the same one Kim Kardashian had worn to the Time100 Gala in New York City earlier that year.

One may recall that during an interview on TV3, Nana Akua Addo revealed that her show-stopping dress, designed by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta, cost a staggering $11,000.

This price did not include shipping fees, and the Ghanaian designer who styled the outfit assembled it perfectly on her body.

Next is the incredible outfit she wore to the 2024 EMY Awards.

Nana Akua Addo stunned in a white, glowing, shimmering gown with sculptural waves frozen mid-flow, perfectly blending drama and elegance.

The fabric rippled like water, giving the gown a sense of motion even while standing still. The corsetry hugged her figure with precision, creating a flawless silhouette.

The gown featured an asymmetrical neckline that was both edgy and regal, complemented by dramatic sculptural folds that framed her like a modern goddess.

The skirt cascaded with layers of translucent fabric, creating a dreamlike effect as it flowed around her.

A thigh-high slit revealed her toned legs in a bold yet tasteful way. Peeking through the slit were white mules with dainty bow details, simple yet chic, allowing the gown to remain the focal point.

Instead of watches or bracelets, her wrists were adorned with stunning chura, dangling like pieces of wearable art.

These sparkling accessories added the perfect amount of drama and movement, making her seem as though she was walking through a field of glittering light.

Paired with chunky silver cuffs, the accessories enhanced the ‘vibe’ of the gown without overshadowing it.

The head-turning look at the GAH Awards in Tanzania

Also at the GAH Awards in Tanzania, Nana Akua Addo made an unforgettable statement.

She wore a custom-made black lace gown, that turned heads with her elegance and boldness. The gown, designed by renowned Ghanaian fashion designer Nicole, featured shimmering long sleeves and a dramatic huge black net fascinator that took the look to another level of sophistication.

While Nana Akua Addo rightfully earned the title of ‘Slay Queen of the Year’ for her unmatched fashion game, she was not alone in making waves this year.

Celebrities like Jackie Appiah, Nana Ama McBrown, Joselyn Dumas, and Akua Boadiwaa Boateng (Akua Esq) also impressed with their stylish appearances and contributed to the competitive fashion scene.
