Obuasi West NPP Youth Organizer Bright Nyanpong has accused the opposition party NDC over massive vote buying during Assin North by-election. According to him, the opposition party which claimed economic hardship in the country had the fund to buy voters to vote for the party. He alleged that the NDC paid between GHC 100 to GHC 400 per voter.
Bright Nyanpong questioned the source of their resources which was used to influence Assin North voters. He is attributing their source of funding to the MP’s Common Fund which is paid to the Members of Parliament to undertake basic developmental projects within their constituencies. He also also said in his alleged accusation that, government allocated funds to the MPs for “Green Ghana Project” which seeks to green Ghana by planting trees to check deforestation across the country.
