Hemang Lower Denkyira Education Director DIANA ANDERSON-(EDUCATION DIRECTOR-HEMANG LOWER DENKYIRA) is calling for stakeholder support to reduce teenage pregnancy and dependency on drugs amongst school going age in the district. According to her, it’s becoming a major challenge facing the district hence, her appeal to the chiefs, queen mothers, parents and other stakeholders to collaborate with teachers to address the challenge. She called for the support when she delivered address at MP’s RURAL EDUCATION EXCELLENCE AWARDS where eight 2022 B.E.C.E. candidates who scored between aggregate 6-12 were honoured with scholarship package, cash and plaque to motivate them to learn hard in their respective second cycle schools.
DIANA ANDERSON-(EDUCATION DIRECTOR-HEMANG LOWER DENKYIRA) used the occasion to commend the Member of Parliament BRIGHT WEREKO BROBBEY for the RURAL EDUCATION EXCELLENCE AWARDS SCHEME as it will motivate both teachers and pupils to learn hard. She appeal for it to be extended to cover the entire constituency

The Member of Parliament for Hemang Lower Denkyira BRIGHT WEREKO BROBBEY-(MP-HEMANG LOWER DENKYIRA) told Ghanabanews team that his vision for instituting the RURAL EDUCATION EXCELLENCE AWARDS SCHEME is to produce quality human resource base for the various deprived rural communities in the constituency. He said some of these pupils are in very deprived communities where there are not roads and light. Some of them had to learn using lantern and whiles they have done well, he want to sponsor them even up to the tertiary level. He prayed that the award scheme will live long even after his tenure as MP to continue to sponsor such brilliant but needy students in the constituency.
He challenged both teachers and pupils to produce more as he is ready to sponsor as many as will make the pass mark. The scheme is now sponsoring twenty-two (22) brilliant but needy students in its third year.

The Central Regional Treasurer for the New Patriotic Party ASARE FRANCIS-(NPP CENT REG TREASURER) who is the brain behind the award scheme told Ghanabanews.com that as someone who is from one of such deprived community and had to walk long distances to go through education and has made in life. He saw the need to institute such an award scheme to motivate pupils from very deprived communities to take up to education and improve standard of education and human resource base of the constituency. He is happy that the award in its third year is sponsoring twenty-two (22) brilliant but needy students in most of the best second cycle schools such as Mfantsipim, Adisadel College, Saint Augustine’s College, Wesley Girls, Archbishop Porter Girls and so on. The scheme is monitoring their progress of studies in their respective schools to achieve the vision of the scheme.
