GNPC Foundation donates hand washing logistics to Cent Reg RCC to fight Covid-19

The Executive Director for Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Foundation Dr Dominic Eduah led a team to present one hundred and fifty hand washing facilities (Veronica Buckets), washing basins with their stands, two thousands hand sanitizers, thousands of face masks, liquid soaps and tissues to the Central Regional Coordinating Council as their contribution to assist the fight against Covid-19 in the region.  After handing over the items to the Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan for onward distributions to various health facilities in the region especially the rural areas to fight the disease. Dr. Dominic Eduah has called on Ghanaians to treat the presence of the Covid-19 with all the seriousness it deserves. He is urging Ghanaians to adhered to President Akufo-Addo’s directive of “Stayhome” which has led to partial lock down of Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi, Tema and Awutu Senya East in a bid to contain the spread of the disease. He said it is better to remain indoors for two weeks or a month than to lose love ones to Covid-19. He believes it will be very difficult for Ghanaians to close caskets of deceased Covid-19 than to remain indoors. Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Foundation is determining to improve living standards of Ghanaians and the very citizens lives to better is being threatened by Covid-19 hence the need for this donation. The Foundation ha similar donations in the Western and Western North  Regions. The Foundation will continue to reach out to other regions and health institutions that are leading Covid-19 fight.

 Central  Regional  Minister Kwamena Duncan after taking delivery of the items handed it over to the Regional Health Director and directed the Director of Ghana Health Service to ensure immediate distribution of the items to the various Health directorates in the region for usage. The Minister said government efforts to supply PPEs to front line health workers to fight Covid-19 is not enough hence support by the GNPC is very timely and laudable. He is appealing to other agencies also to learn from GNPC to do well to  support government efforts by supplying PPEs to contain the disease. He has expressed profound gratitude to GNPC for coming to support the region.
