The Chief Director at the Ministry of Interior Adelaide Annor Kumi has made passionate appeal to the British government and other development partners to collaborate with Ghana Prison Service in the area mechanize agriculture. This is to help Ghana Prison Service to make good use of huge youthful labour readily available in our congested prisons. According to her agriculture mechanization will go a long way to make Prison Service self reliance to reduce their dependence on central government for funding. The agriculture mechanization project will also position the service to take advantage of government “planting for food and job” to produce food to feed inmates and also sell the surplus to increase internal generated fund. She commended the service for the Toilet Roll factory currently in operation at the Nsawam Prison Camp. She is therefore employing Ghanaians to patronize the products from the factory to keep them in production.
