Central Regional Minister Kwamena Duncan has caution MMDAs in the region against non-performance. He gave the caution when MMDAs signed 2019/2020 performance contract with indicators to achieve by the end of the year 2020. In the performance contract, the MMDAs are expected to ensure provision of potable water, adequate sanitation facilities, educational and health infrastructure, security and safety and generation and efficient utilization of funds. There is a team of expert that goes run to measure the attainment of the above indicators.
The contract was signed at the Regional Coordinating Council. It will be recalled that Kwamena Duncan was adjudged over-all best Regional Minister in 2018/2019 yet most district assemblies in the region performed poorly except Agona West which placed 21st position among 260 district assemblies which accessed under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. Kwamena Duncan admonished District Chief Executives not to abandon their office responsibilities at the expense of political campaign. They should not leave office work only to be seen on political campaign trails in quest to maintain power.
