In an exclusive conversation with Paul Adom Otchere monitored by MyNewsGh, Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. Ntim Fordjour has vehemently denied accusations surrounding a controversial episode of Joy FM.

Fordjour accused the host of the show, Samson Lardy Anyenini, of intentionally reading out text messages that were not from the public, describing them as part of a planned and orchestrated smear campaign.

Fordjour stated that he was deliberately set up to be portrayed negatively. “I wasn’t there to just talk about rumors,” Fordjour began.

“The situation was misrepresented. The messages Samson read were false, not what the public sent, and they were not from me. It was a deliberate attempt to tarnish my reputation, and that is unethical.”

Fordjour claims that prior to his segment, the atmosphere on the set was already fraught with disrespect.

He revealed that he was invited on the show to discuss the ongoing investigations surrounding suspicious flights, cocaine seizures, and alleged money laundering activities. However, Fordjour was replaced after the first segment by another panelist. He explains that he had agreed to this arrangement and was prepared to leave after his discussion on the issues at hand.

As he exited the segment, however, Fordjour expressed his shock when Ladi read out what he described as “diabolic” and “mischievous” text messages that cast doubt on his integrity.

According to Fordjour, these messages were not sent by the public, and when he inquired about their source, Ladi insisted that they had been forwarded by his producer. However, the producer reportedly denied sending any such messages.

“I asked Samson, where did you get these messages from?” Fordjour continued. “His response was that his producer sent them, but when I spoke to the producer, they denied it. That’s where the confusion started. I have a witness who was present at the time.”

Despite these accusations, Fordjour stressed that he was not interested in personal attacks or insults. Instead, he focused on the issue at hand: the need for transparency in the ongoing investigations and the government’s handling of critical national security matters.

According to Fordjour, the reading of fabricated messages was a diversion tactic meant to avoid addressing the real issues, such as the investigation into suspicious flights and narcotics trafficking.

“I am not perturbed by their personal attacks,” he declared. “What I care about are the serious issues that need to be addressed. Why is there resistance to an open investigation into these suspicious flights and the cocaine seizures?”

Fordjour, who is also a reverend minister, emphasized that his actions were in line with his responsibility as a Member of Parliament.

He stated that he would continue to push for accountability and transparency in the ongoing national security issues, despite the personal attacks and misleading narratives that have surfaced.

He also pointed to past cases of drug busts, particularly those involving large sums of money, that he feels have not been adequately addressed.

“Why are they trying to silence me?” Fordjour asked rhetorically. “It’s simple: they don’t want to confront the facts.

The public deserves to know the truth about these flights and the connections to drug trafficking and money laundering.”

In closing, Fordjour made it clear that he would not back down in the face of these allegations, and he would continue to use his position to demand proper investigations into the national security matters he is concerned with.

“I will follow the issues until the truth comes out,” he stated resolutely. “Let the investigations be done openly, and let’s see what they are really hiding.”
