Girls’ Prefect for College of Music Senior High School, Mozano Ernestina Tei in the Agona West District in the Central Region bemoaned non-existence of washrooms on campus for students to use. According to her, lack of washrooms on campus has compelled them to defecate in bush where anytime they visit the bush to defecate men who farm around the place normally watch their nakedness. Female students who are in their menstrual cycle also have no place to change hence they are forced to dump their menstrual pads in the bush which can be picked by unscrupulous people for rituals. These challenges are worry to students especially female students and it affecting academic work. She is therefore making passionate appeal to Ghana Education Service and benevolent organizations to come and construct washroom for the school. She made this appeal when Gyaasehene of Mozano Nana Baah who also doubled as Rev. Baah is the founder of the school before government took it over in 2012. He visited the school with some of his elders to interact with the students especially the final year students as they prepare for their 2023 WASSCE.

He said anytime it rains, it comes into the classrooms sometime classes has to come to an end. He also mentioned lack of vehicle is seriously having negative impact on teaching and learning. The school doesn’t have a vehicle, no dining hall and kitchen at the new site hence school authorities had to hire taxi to transport their food from the old site to the new site for students. According to the head boy anytime food delay, students aren’t able to pay attention during lessons as food vendors aren’t on campus.

He urged students to learn hard to justify government ‘Free SHS’ investment. He also used the visit to call on government to provide infrastructure, accommodation and especially vehicle which must be taking urgently to address transportation challenges of the school. Nana is worried that since government took over the school in 2012, the school hasn’t been giving a vehicle and how can school authorities successfully run the school without means of transport. He is calling on government to provide the school a bus.
