The Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Ekow Kwansa Hayford admits that NPP government hasn’t not yet established factory under 1D1F concept in the constituency but they won’t be pushed by the opposition party NDC to rush into establishing unsustainable factory. According to the MP, Mfantseman does not want a repeat of Komenda Sugar Factory which was established under Former President John Dramani Mahama led administration and has not produced a cup of sugar for the people Ghana. Government is determining to revive Saltpond Ceramics which has collapsed for several years. Ekow Kwansa Hayford said Saltpond Ceramics will be revived this year. The challenge facing the revival of the factory is non-availability of power. Government is working hard to transport gas from Takoradi to Tema which will be used to feed the factory. They will also construct kenkey market for the kenkey sellers at Yamoransa and gari factory to supply gari to schools in the Central Region.
The Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency, Ekow Kwansa Hayford has pledged to ensure the relative peace being enjoyed in the constituency is maintained. He said he will do everything within his powers to ensure his followers and the NPP party members maintain peace which is very crucial for sustainable development. He said in Mfantseman, the constituency has consolidated peace since multi-party democracy and this isn’t the time to allow politics to destroy the gains. It is only one political party that will win and whichever party wins, is Mfantseman that wins. He believes that NPP track record will retain the party in power. He is therefore calling on his colleagues in the country to do same.
